Our Story
Dell Rapids Christian Homeschool Academy began from a simple observation: many parents deeply desired to homeschool their children, but for a variety of reasons felt unable to do it alone.
Over the years I was often asked if I would homeschool other families’ children. While I love teaching and mentoring students, I have always believed that the learning, formation, and relationships that grow within the home cannot be replaced by any classroom. Parents are the primary educators of their children, and the home plays a vital role in shaping who students become.
At the same time, I began to see that many families needed support. Some parents felt overwhelmed by curriculum choices, others needed help teaching certain subjects, and many desired a community where their children could learn alongside others.
Dell Rapids Christian Homeschool Academy was created to meet that need.
Rather than replacing the home, the academy exists to partner with families. Students attend in-person classes two days each week where they engage in collaborative learning, presentations, discussions, and hands-on projects. At home, families continue their student’s education, guiding assignments and maintaining their role as the primary educators. In 2025 we added seperate Wednesday classes that parents can sign their students up for.
Our program is built around four core values: Faith, Character, Academics, and Community.
Students learn in a multi-age environment where older students develop leadership and younger students grow through mentorship and example. Together they learn to ask questions, think deeply, speak confidently, and take responsibility for their learning.
More than anything, our hope is that students grow not only in knowledge, but also in wisdom, confidence, and character—becoming the people God created them to be.
Dell Rapids Christian Homeschool Academy exists to support families, encourage students, and cultivate a learning community where faith, learning, and life come together.
